The Innocent and the Orphan – Working with Archetypes with Lindy Spanger and Christine Butera

How did the archetype of the innocent and the orphan develop?
When and where do we encounter these archetypes in ourselves and in our clients?
What can we offer our clients when we meet these parts of them in the therapy room?
How is this a helpful tool for your client?
In this experiential workshop you have an opportunity to explore your relationship with the Archetypes of
the Innocent and the Orphan and meet these parts of yourself in a guided and supported process .We will
explore these themes through the lens of Attachment Theory, Early Childhood Developmental Experience,
the Chakra Energies and Relational patterns in Character Structure. By meeting these Archetypes
experientially, we will offer you ways of introducing these concepts to your clients in an embodied and
supported way offering them a relationship with those aspects of themselves.
When: Sunday the 23 October from 9:30am – 5.00pm
Where: HURSTWOOD CLINIC, 16A Toorak Rd, South Yarra
Cost: ASCP members $220
John Conger (The Body in Recovery) suggests we are “initially grounded on the belly of our mother and
our bodies brought into conscious time by the hands of love…If we have not been touched to the heart as
children in the early stages, we will not sufficiently ground in this world. We will not feel like we have a
home anywhere. We will not belong to anyone. Our egos, so presumptuous without our bodies, will not
develop fluidly, nor with sufficient integration.”
“If you’ve an alive body, no one can tell you how to experience the world. And no one can tell you what the
truth is because you experience it for yourself.
“The Body Does Not Lie.” Stanley Kellerman
