The Association of Soul Centred Psychotherapists

The ASCP is a voluntary non profit, incorporated professional association established in 2003 for those engaged in the practice of Soul Centred™ Psychotherapy. The ASCP forms part of a Soul Centred™ therapeutic community.

“Your pain is the breaking of the shell that encloses your understanding.”

– Kahlil Gibran –

Our Purpose

The purpose of the ASCP is to support the continuation of Soul Centred Psychotherapy as a modality by providing professional development, study opportunities and cultivating a strong sense of community among members.

Our purpose is to:
* Foster and advance the practice and theory of Soul Centred Psychotherapy.

* Support ongoing professional development in Soul Centred Psychotherapy.

*Represent Soul Centred Psychotherapy to the wider community.

The ASCP achieves this by:
* Providing a forum for Soul Centred Psychotherapists to extend their learning.
* Maintaining ethical standards for Soul Centred Psychotherapists.
* Requiring professional development of Soul Centred Psychotherapists.
* Providing a caring community for our therapists.

Our Vision

Through the support, development and representation of Soul Centred Psychotherapists, the ASCP aims to maintain the integrity of the modality and offer Soul Centred Psychotherapy as an alternative to more mainstream psychological approaches.

In a world of brief therapy and quick fixes, Soul Centred Psychotherapy offers in depth relational psychotherapy that incorporates cutting edge therapeutic modalities in trauma and energy based psychology.

Soul Centred psychotherapy is a secular approach in that it is deeply concerned with the affairs of this world.  Soul Centred psychotherapy attends to the human experience through the everyday stuff of life: thoughts, emotions, body sensations and symptoms, and the relationships people have with others and the world. Value, meaning, and healing emerge from within each person’s unique process of inner work rather than from any external ideal of health, wealth, or happiness. This is what Soul Centred psychotherapy calls attending to the experience of soul.

Our Committee

Our Committee of Management is comprised of volunteer members who are committed to delivering and upholding a high professional standard for the Association of Soul Centred Psychotherapists.
